Revel in the wonder of California Academy’s annual holiday exhibit, ’Tis the Season for Science through January 3, 2016. This interactive exhibit invites you to explore some of the most awe-inspiring details of reindeer adaptation, from how they stay warm to how they find food in the harsh Arctic winter.
You have a few more days to glide across the ice along the beautiful waterfront at the largest outdoor rink in the city, just minutes away at the Embarcadero Holiday Ice Rink –open through January 3, 2016.
Head over to Golden Gate Park on January 11, 2015 for the 2nd Annual Hot Chocolate Run. It includes both a 15k and 5k run around Golden Gate Park. Cheer on friends or if you complete the run, you can enjoy creamy hot chocolate!
Cozy up and grab a good viewing spot for the third annual San Francisco Boat Show at nearby McCovey Cove and Pier 48 at AT&T Park on January 15-18, 2016. This is Northern California’s only show with both power and sailboat in-water and land displays. – UPDATE – Due to the storms caused by the current El Nino weather patterns, the 2016 San Francisco Boat Show has been postponed to April 29–May 1.
Join the 11-day celebration of our world-class dining community as SF Restaurant Week returns January 20 – 31, 2016. More than 125 restaurants around the city offer special prix-fixe menus to showcase their passion for sharing great food with diners. Join the California Historical Society, Anna Halprin, the Graham Foundation, and others in celebrating the West Coast premiere of Experiments in Environment: The Halprin Workshops, 1966-71. This free opening reception is part of Third Thursdays in Yerba Buena on January 21, 2016 at 5:00pm.

CUESA and the SF chapter of the USBG in a special cocktail collaboration with SFMOMA for a night of seasonal drinks and bites in anticipation of the museum’s re-opening in spring 2016. CUESA’s Winter Cocktails of the Farmers Market is Wednesday, January 27, 2016 from 5:30pm to 8:00pm.
