We’ve once again rounded up a few must attend events in the city that definitely need to be added to your May social calendar:

The new Yerba Buena Gardens Festival season kicks off May 1st. This ongoing event offers free programming every week through October. Live outdoor performances include music, dance, and theater and feature both well-known and emerging artists.

Spend May 5th at Barbarossa Lounge for a special Cinco De Mayo Celebration with crafted cocktails, live DJ music, late night entertainment, and plenty of surprises with drink specials planned. Admission is complimentary but you need to RSVP as the space is limited.

Show your Mom how much you appreciate all that she does and treat her to a relaxing two-hour Mother’s Day Brunch cruise aboard the iconic San Francisco Belle on Sunday, May 8th! Enjoy a mouth-watering brunch buffet, free-flowing champagne and live DJ entertainment as you sail along the bay.

Mark your calendars for the biggest bike day of the year: Bike to Work Day on Thursday, May 12th. Volunteers will cheer on people riding bikes around San Francisco at 25 Energizer Stations! Each station is providing free donated snacks and beverages, as well as convenient reusable tote bags for future commutes filled with goodies! Does your bike need a check-up? Bike Doctors will be at 16 Energizer Stations to help you with basic bike maintenance – for free!

Craig Stoll, the co-owner of Locanda, Delfina is coming to the CUESA Classroom for a cooking demo on May 14^th. All demos take place under the white tents in front of the Ferry Plaza Farmers Marke and are free to the public, with recipes and samples for all.

Beginning May 14, discover the transformed SF Museum of Modern Art, which has more than doubled in exhibition space and now offers more free galleries to the public. Head downtown to admire how the expansion’s sleek, modern architecture complements the world around it, and check out the exciting new artwork inside. We wrote about the SFMOMA opening here.

Catch a ball game at AT&T Park. Cheers on the Giants at one of the May Special Event Days. May 5: Cinco de Mayo fun, May 6: Metallica Night, and May 7: Marvel Super Hero Night are just a few.
